Falling in love with Jesus implies falling in love with
the Word, the Bible. We love the Word because that is who Jesus is. I’ve
advised new believers to read this Gospel and think about the character of
Jesus, to seek to know the person Who is the “Lover of Our Soul.”
There is an old amazing book, “In His Steps:
What Would Jesus Do?” by Charles Monroe Sheldon. It details what changes as
Christians determine not to do anything without first asking, “What would Jesus
do?” By studying what Jesus did, and meditating on the why and how, we become
better equipped to answer this question and, by His grace, function
accordingly.
These written portraits will assist the reader in gaining that
understanding, at the heart level, to flow with the Spirit of God down this
river of understanding. May the Lord increase our hunger for Him as we digest
the Word into our inner man and see the love of God so vividly that we
desperately want to be like Him.
John 1:1 In the beginning the Word already existed, The
Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He existed in the beginning with God.
3 God created
everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.
4 The Word gave
life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone.
14 So the Word
became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and
faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and
only Son.
This writer makes
no claim to exclusivity, nor intention, to present a detailed exegesis covering
every point completely. It is always is my intent to share some things that
reveal the Character of Jesus, sharing from God’s Heart to yours.
